Wanted: Perfect Mother
Wanted: Perfect Mother is the first film directed by renowned Filipino director Lino Brocka. Released in 1970, it is a dramatic movie dealing with the issues of substitute parenting in Philippine society. The movie was adapted from the original komiks novel of Mars Ravelo from Pilipino Komiks. It was Lea Productions' official entry to the 5th Manila Film Festival in 1970.
In 1996, a remake was made starring Christopher De Leon and Regine Velasquez.
Synopsis
A 30-year-old widower realizes that his three children need a mother figure. His youngest daughter feels lonely and finds it hard to cope with schooling. He scouts around for a tutor for his daughter, someone who could also act as her playmate and friend. The lady who arrives -- a cheerful singer and tutor -- brings light to their home lives. Eventually, the father falls in love with her.
