Rose Barredo Borromeo
Rose Barredo Borromeo was born in Manila on 23 July 1943. She trained in ballet, tap dancing, and Spanish dance. A dancer, she performed with the Bayanihan Philippine Dance Company and the Julie Borromeo Dance Company, where she was also assistant choreographer and dance leader. She also performed with the Philippine Festival of Steve Parker and Shirley MacLaine in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA in 1961 to 1962. Back in Manila, she danced for television and acted in musical comedies including Promises, Promises, Chorus Line. A choreographer, she also choreographed for Repertory Philippines production, like The King and I, What's New Charlie Brown; for movies like, Sinta (Darling); for television shows like Changes. In hand with these, she also taught ballet, Spanish jazz, Polnesian dance, and slimnastics in Dance Arts Studios, the Academie for the Performing Arts in Makati, and for a while, for her own school in Zamboanga City.
