Rosario del Rosario
Rosario del Rosario (October 3, 1942 - ) is a professor at the Department of Community Development & Women and Development Studies (CSWCD), of the University of the Philippines, Diliman from 2000 to present.
In 1964, she received her B.A. in Anthropology at the University of the Americas, Mexico City, where she was included in the Dean's Honor List (1963-64). She finished her M.A. in Socio-Anthropology at Fordham University, New York in 1966, and completed her Ph.D. in Philippine Studies at the University of the Philippines in 2003.
Rosario del Rosario started as a Lecturer at the Anthropology Department of the University of the Philippines, Baguio in 1968, and continued her career as an Instructor (1968-69), Assistant Professor (1976-90), and an Associate Professor (1991-2000) at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. She was a Visiting Professor at the Institute of European Studies, University of Paris from March to June 2005.
In recognition of her contributions, she received the Best Faculty in Extension Work Gawad Chancellor Award at the University of the Philippines, Diliman in 1999. She is also the recipient of the Best Dissertation College of Arts and Letters, and Best Dissertation on Gender University Center for Women's Studies at the University of the Philippines, Diliman in 2003 and 2006, respectively.
