Manolo Silayan

Manolo Silayan is one of the better known storytellers in the Philippines. He is the President of the Alitaptap Storytellers' Club.

He is a Theatre Arts graduate and uses his knowledge and skills of presenting in stage in his work as a storyteller for children. He works as a training and development consultant focusing on communication, customer service, management, team building and organizational development. He has also conducts '"The Acting and Reading Techniques of Storytelling"", which he himself designed and also other seminars and workshops on children's theatre and storytelling workshops.

He is a member of the Philippine Board on Books for Young People (PBBY) Storytelling Sector and a workshop facilitator for Storytelling in the Sa Aklat Sisikat Foundation, ABS-CBN Foundation, Bantay Bata 163, Aids Society of the Philippines and Batang Sining of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

He also represented the Philippines in the 2003 Storytelling Festival and ASEAN Storytelling Conference in Singapore. He continues his advocacy and his passion for teaching children through the foundation of his own school called Yale Children's School in Lian, Batangas.

He is the son of veteran Filipino actor, Vic Silayan and brother to beauty queen turned actress, Chat Silayan.
