Maiqui Gaston Mañosa

Maiqui Gaston Mañosa (Ma. Cristina Gaston Shoemaker) is a classical ballet dancer. She was born on 25 May 1960 in Manila to Manuel T. Mañosa Jr. and Ma. Luisa Inday Gaston-Mañosa. She is married to Thomas Shoemaker.

She graduated from the Assumption Convent with a bachelor of arts degree, then she went to the Atlanta School of Arts in Georgia, USA. Her teachers in ballet both in the Philippines and abroad include her mother, Remedios de Oteyza, Sulamith Messerer, Jean Deroc, William Morgan, Mannie Rowe, John Derve, and Robert Barnett.

In the 1970s, she danced for the Hariraya Ballet Company and the Ballet Federation of the Philippines. In the 1980s, she joined the Atlanta Ballet where she rose to be a principal dancer.
