Maggugulay (translation: Vegetable Vendor) is a painting by Norma Belleza. This painting on canvas seems charmingly unrefined and naive but it is a well-organized composition that expresses aesthetic pleasure and delight in daily life. Made in 1977 and measuring 84 x 95.4 cm, this painting is now in the collection of the Central Bank of the Philippines.[1]

Typical of the compositions of Belleza, this is a painting of a solidly-built woman coping with her daily tasks. The central image is of a woman figure arranging the vegetables she is selling. She stays down-to-earth, strong, calm and dispassionate as she deals with the routine struggle to survive. A crowded, noisy, and humid wet market scene also appears in the picture.[1]
