Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala II (born 6 March 1959), also popularly known as JAZA, is a son of the Filipino businessman Jaime Zobel de Ayala. JAZA is the Chief Executive Officer and the Chairman of the publicly-listed company and the Philippines’ largest conglomerate, Ayala Corporation (Template:Pse), while his brother, Fernando Zobel de Ayala is the President and Chief Operating Officer.

Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala is the concurrent Chairman and CEO of the Ayala Corporation. He took over the Chief Executive position in 1995 after company laws required his father to step down. He is also the Chairman of the Nominations Committee. Aside from this, JAZA is also the Chairman of Globe Telecom, Inc (Template:Pse). since 1997, Bank of Philippine Islands (Template:Pse) since 2004 , BPI Capital Corporation, BPI Direct Savings Bank, Inc. and BPI Family Savings Bank, Inc.

Since 1995, he has served as the Chairman of the Board of Integrated Microelectronics, Inc., Azalea Technology Investment, Inc., Ayala International Pte. Ltd., Alabang Commercial Corporation, Ayala Hotels, Inc., Ayala Life Assurance, Inc., Ayala Plans, Inc., FGU Insurance Corporation, Cebu Holdings Inc. He also serves as a director of BPI Philam Life Assurance Corporation, Alabang Commercial Corporation, Ayala Hotels, Inc.

He is also the Vice Chairman of Manila Water Company, Inc., Ayala Land, Inc.(Template:Pse) and Mermac, Inc. He is also the Co-Vice Chairman of th Board and Executive Committee of the Ayala Foundation, Inc with his brother Fernando Zobel de Ayala. Their father, Jaime Zobel de Ayala is the Chairman of the Board.

Membership in other organizations

JAZA is also involved with several non-government and non-profit organization, and professional organizations. He serves as a Director and national council member of the World Wildlife Fund (U.S.), the International Youth Foundation He is also a Trustee of The Conference Board, Inc. and the Carlos P. Romulo Foundation for Peace and Development.

He is also a member of the Children’s Hour Philippines, Inc., Asia Business Council, JP Morgan International Council, Mitsubishi Corporation International Advisory Committee, Toshiba International Advisory Group, Harvard Business School Asia-Pacific Advisory Board, Harvard University Asia Center Advisory Committee, The Asia Society, The Singapore Management University, the Conference Board, Advisory Board of the Center for Corporation Citizenship, Business Sector Advisory Board on Corporation Governance, Pacific Basin Economic Council and Philippine Economic Society; Trustee of the Ramon Magsaysay Awards Foundation, and Asian Institute of Management. He also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Asia Society Philippine Foundation, Inc. and the Makati Business Club.


JAZA graduated with B.A. in Economics (Cum Laude) at Harvard College in 1981 and took his MBA at the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in 1987.

Zobel de Ayala is married to Elizabeth Eder Zobel. Their children are Mariana, Jaime, Alfonso and Eugenia. He is a distant relative of Inigo Zobel.
