Hibok-Hibok Festival is Philippine festival held annually every 24th of June on the Island of Camiguin. It coincides with the feast of St. John the Baptist held on the same day. After attending mass on the day of the celebration, believers usually flock to the beach or to any area where they can bathe with their families and friends.
Observance of St. John the Baptist
Hibok-Hibok is one of the festivals in the Philippines where the feast of St. John the Baptist is observed. On such occasions, townspeople sprinkle one another with water in the streets, akin to a baptismal. In Camiguin, residents make it a point to bathe in the sea to celebrate the feast. They have also included a fluvial procession, water sport events, and other activities in their observance of the occasion.
