Hands On Manila or HOM is a non-profit organization that provides its members with diverse, flexible volunteer opportunities that address the needs of the community. Membership in HOM is free and open to all persons, groups and corporations.

Established in August 2001, Hands On Manila (HOM) brings to the Philippines and the Asia Pacific region a flexible model of volunteer service allowing for volunteering to be integrated into daily schedules even for busy individuals.

Introduced and developed by the Hands On Network (formerly, City Cares), the model has been successful in 33 American cities. Hands On Network is an alliance of volunteer organizations founded in 1992 with the mission of encouraging and effectively channeling the volunteer impulse.

Hands On Manila is the first Hands On Network affiliate in the Asia Pacific region.

Hands On Manila empowers individuals to act as citizens and realize their ability to contribute to the community in meaningful ways. HOM seeks to enhance citizen capacity to effectively serve the community.

Based on the premise that everyone can serve, HOM's mission is to mobilize people to address the critical social, educational and environmental needs of the Metro Manila area through volunteer action. Through its network of community-based organizations, HOM offers flexible, diverse service opportunities for individuals, as well as customized service projects for civic and corporate groups. A monthly service calendar highlights projects volunteers can complete based on interest, location and schedule.

HOM's goal is not only to provide a roadblock-free path to service; it is also to provide meaningful experiences that clearly make a difference. By doing so, Hands On Manila encourages an even greater sense of responsibility, caring and awareness in those who come to know the life-changing power of getting involved.
