Gomburza (painting)

Gomburza is a mural-size painting in oil on canvas by Jaime de Guzman. This masterpiece has a dimension of 205 x 506 centimeters and belongs to the Cultural Center of the Philippines Collection.[1]

Visuals

This painting creates a heroic martyrdom of the three martyrs collectively known as Gomburza: Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora. The martyred priests are put in a composite form in this composition.[1]

The three appear as hooded figures under an ominous, blood-red crucifix and a trinity of skulls.[2]
