Philippines has over 100 languages and varieties connecting people in their respective regions, and ethnic groups. It is in this diversity of language that the term socio-linguistic group was formed, which emphasized the power of language to unite people speaking and understanding each other. Language here, is more than a symbol or code, or a communication tool but rather serves as a binding force to culturally define a group of people sharing a common culture. Language is used in expressing one's thoughts, beliefs, arts and customs, enriching their traditions, or a shift to changes and preferences.
