Busabos is a drama komiks novel written by Pablo S. Gomez and illustrated by Jesse Santos. It tells the story of Elvira, a talented singer who hid her relationship with her boyfriend from her parents and suffered dire consequences as a result. It was originally published in the pages of Hiwaga Komiks in 1956 and was adapted into film by Sampaguita Pictures in 1957. The film was directed by Jose de Villa and starred Lolita Rodriguez as Elvira, as well as Eddie Arenas, Rudy Francisco, Daisy Romualdez, Chichay, Etang Discher and Bella Flores. In the 1957 FAMAS Awards, Lolita Rodriguez and Bella Flores were nominated in the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories, respectively, but the film would earn one award with Etang Discher winning the Best Supporting Actress category.
