Bulaklak ng Kalumpang (translation: Flower of Kalumpang) was written by Roman G. Reyes. It was a part of a trilogy together with Wakas ng Pagtitiis (1907) at  Hinagpis at Ligaya (1907).

The story begins with a neighbor describing the beauty and kindness of Geleng, that rare woman who combines the qualities of Ninay, Urbana and Felisa, and of Maria Clara. This paragon of womanly virtues, however, is the object of her parents' unmitigated cruelty. When Aguasil Marcelo and Aling Lilay, Geleng's parents, find out that the girl is being courted by Serafin, they beat her up and abuse her verbally. But little does Serafin know that Yeyeng, the daughter of the owner of the house he and his mother are renting, is secretly pining for him. The matter becomes more complicated when Aling Sanang, Serafin's mother, reveals that Geleng is also her daughter, making Geleng Serafin's sister. With the horrible revelation made by the dying woman, the possibility of an incestuous marriage is avoided, but leaves the sweethearts in absolute pain and misery.
