Dr. Alendry P. Caviles, Jr. is a Filipino physician noted for his research in the field of hematology and immunology.

Biography

A Professor Emeritus of Medicine, Dr. Caviles is best described as a humble intellectual and humanitarian. Many have benefited from his proficiency in various aspects of hematology and immunology. He instilled to his colleagues and young medical trainees the concepts and principles of Hematologic-Oncologic-Immunologic, the most common and basic diseases in the Philippines. Similarly, Dr. Caviles' works mainly dealt on the basic intricacies, diagnosis, and rational treatment of blood diseases like childhood leukemia, immunodeficiency diseases, hemorrhagic dengue fever, idiopathic thrombocytic Purpura, and anemia in general.

Dr. Caviles was also the chairperson of the Medical Sciences Division of the National Research Council of the Philippines. He is also a member of the International Society of Hematology.
