Dr. Alejandro J. Casambre is a Filipino professor and researcher recognized for his pioneering contributions in the field of speech communication.

Casambre was recognized for initiating the teaching of speech in Filipino long before the UP language policy allowing Filipino as a language of instruction. As a professor and researcher, he introduced innovations in modern teaching that fuses the teacher and researcher in one person. In his studies, Casambre analyzed the speech communication profiles of different sectors such as Filipino students, middle management personnel, and medical doctors, nurses, and technologists.

Apart from his intellectual and academic activities, Casambre has also shown an artistic side in his poetry, as in "Eden of Learning, Vineyard of Hope," an effort which won recognition in the 1994 North American Open Poetry Contest.
