Cha cha Cañete
Tricia Louise Cañete, also known as Cha cha Cañete, has captured the people's attention through Camella Homes' commercial with the catchy jingle: 'Bulilit, bulilit, sanay sa masikip.' This adorable four-year-old was discovered by Erik Matti in a coffee shop at ABS-CBN and he got her to perform for the Camella Homes commercial. By that time, Cha cha was acting for 'Going' Bulilit' for about two months. The commercial boosted her popularity tenfold and she started appearing in several shows and films released in 2009.
Jessica May Flores
Jessica May Flores is a 9-year-old child star who won the title of Best Child Actress in the 57th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) awards. She starred in the indie film 'Ay-ayeng' which is directed by Ed Palmos.
The young violinist and first time child actor Julian Duque received the award of 'Breakthrough Performance by an Actor' in the 6th Golden Screen Awards of the Entertainment Press Society, Inc. (Enpress.) He also won the title of 'Movie Child Performer of the Year' during the 25th Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Movies. The 8-year-old won the titles for playing the role of a mute child who was physically abused by his drunkard father in the indie film 'Boses.' He used his exceptional skill in playing the violin during the film.
Zaijan Jaranilla, more popularly known as Santino in the ABS-CBN TV series 'May Bukas Pa', won two awards for the year 2009.
