TJ Manotoc is the son of former Miss International Aurora Pijuan and sportsman Tommy Manotoc and half-brother of Borgy Manotoc.He studied in grade school at Montessori, Pasay City then tranferred at Ateneo University to finish his highschool and continued his studies at La Salle University

After graduating from college, he went into basketball coaching, became a basketball analyst then became editor-in-chief of Forward Magazine, which later was renamed Manual. In 2002, he auditioned and became part of GMA 7’s Unang Hirit, then dabbled in showbiz with a talk show on IBC 13 until 2004, when he found his home in ABS-CBN. He has a 12-hours of work day with Mornings@ANC, sportscasting for the UAAP on Studio 23, co-hosting the TFC show Kwentong Disyerto, reporting for TV Patrol and Bandila, and one of the main acnhors of Studio 23's News Central .He also won the award for Best TV Analyst for Basketball in 2002 and recently Best Science and Technology Reporter for TV for the KBP's Golden Dove Awards. and also for being a part of the team of "Runaways: Human Trafficking in Jordan" that aired on ANC and ABS-CBN that bagged Best Documentary.

At ABS-CBN, he has learned so much and is thankful for the trust and confidence its executives have given him. He especially is grateful that his bosses support him in his consumer and health reporting wherein he does research and reports on healthy living, teaching people about nutritional facts and possible hazards on one’s health by the different products out in the market, without any fear of backlash. He will never rest on his goals and plans to continue learning and improving himself by taking up Masters in Journalism and studying photography and digital filmmaking.

His longtime dream is to put up a Foundation for Streetchildren. When he celebrated his last birthday, he donated two houses to Gawad Kalinga, a project he truly believes in. He prays that one day, through his involvement, this project will be supported by more people. This is his way of giving back to the community.

Recently he has helped the Cavite-based NGO Dynamic Teen Company. The group is a former Gawad Geny Lopez Bayaning Pilipino Awardee and their founder Efren Peñaflorida is the only Pinoy CNN Hero. After meeting them when TJ hosted BPA years ago, their paths crossed again when he did a news story on Efren's CNN nomination. Now TJ devotes 2 Sundays a month giving leadership success seminars to the teen heros of DTC.

TJ envisions adding another hat to his career, that of Motivational Speaker. Lase Sept 4 he was a guest speaker at well-known Motiationsl speaker Francis Kong's COPE (Culture Of Personal Excellence).
