Republic Act No. 6955

Republic Act No. 6955, approved by President Corazon C. Aquino on 13 June 1990, declares unlawful the practice of matching Filipino Women to foreign nationals on a mail order basis and other similar practices. It was enacted for the purpose of protecting Filipino Women from being exploited in utter disregard of human dignity in their pursuit of economic upliftment.
