Randy Mengullo of JJS Karate Dojo

Sensei Randy Mengullo is a Filipino karateka who has competed in various national and international karate competitions, born in Bacolod City, province of Negros Occidental is a Sandan (3rd degree) Black Belt in Shotokan and Wado-ryu Karate from the Philippines.

He attended the 13th KOI Karate World Cup and Training Camp participated by 25 nations.

He participated Philippine Karatedo Federation National Championships held in Laguna, Manila, Iloilo, Cebu City, Tacloban, Bicol, Negros Occidental and Panay Island and snatched medals in kumite and kata events in the age group, cadet and junior divisions. Sensei Mengullo's team bagged the 2008 NOPSSCEA karatedo championship tittle.<ref>NOPSSCEA Karatedo Champion,Visayan Daily Star, September 27, 2008 edition</ref> He boosted Jack & Jill School's bid after claiming 12 golds in the elementary boys and girls division in kata and kumite events and 9 golds in the in the 3rd UMA-ONEBA Presidential Cup Karatedo Competition. Personal life

Sensei Randy began training at the age of 13 and started his intensive training during his collegiate years in 1989. He earned his Black belt in 1993 through Sensei Ricardo Diocares and Sensei Rodolfo Gino in Red Bulls Karate Club 43. Mengullo's competitive years started in full contact tournament wherein he joined competitions both in Kick Boxing matches and Traditional Full Contact Karate in the province. He started joining Philippine Karatedo Federation tournaments in 1992 wherein he became champions in Kumite and Kata in PKF Regional Championships and garnered medals and recognition in the National Level.<ref>JJS karatekas cop Mayor's Cup,Randy Mengullo on Visayan Daily Star,</ref>

Sensei Randy started teaching martial arts after graduating from a BS Commerce course major in Management at West Negros College (now University) in the year 1995. He is a faculty member of Jack and Jill School/Castleson High wherein he initiated the karatedo training program to all elementary and high school students as a regular subject included in the school curriculum; graded and integrated to Physical Education classes.<ref>Life lessons from karate,Sunday Inquirer Magazine, December 14, 2008 edition</ref> Sensei Randy is an active officer and founding member of NOKAF and Union of Martial Arts Organization of Negros and Bacolod, assigned as the PKF-Visayas coordinator for school affairs and a recognized instructor of Milo Summer Karatedo Sports Clinic in the Philippines.
