Ramon del Rosario is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Philippine Investment Management, Inc. (PHINMA), which was co-founded by his father, the late Ramon del Rosario, Sr. In 2008, he was ranked by Forbes as the 17th richest Filipino with a net worth of USD205 million.
Del Rosario holds degrees in BSC-Accounting and Commerce and AB-Social Sciences (Magna cum Laude) at De La Salle University-Manila in 1967 and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1969. He also has an Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Degree from the University of the Philippines in 1976 and a Master Degree in Computer Science from the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand in 1980.
 Business Career
Ramon del Rosario is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Philippine Investment Management, (PHINMA) Inc. since July 2002. He is also the President and Chairman of the Board of Phinma Corporation. Under his leadership, the company ventured into other education and low-cost housing from its core business of cement manufacturing.
The company’s investment in the education sector is comprised of four schools under the Phinma Education Network namely: Araullo University, Inc., Cagayan de Oro College,Inc., University of Pangasinan, Inc., UPang and University of Iloilo, Inc.
Among other designations he currently holds are President and Vice Chairman of Bacnotan Consolidated Industries, Inc., two affiliated companies with investments in housing, education, energy, financial services and steel roofing.
He is also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AB Capital and Investment Corporation, Vice-Chairman of Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corp. and Chairman of Microtel Inns and Suites (Pilipinas), Inc. He also serves on the Boards of Directors of Ayala Land, Inc., Holcim Philippines, Inc., Roxas Holdings, Inc., Bacnotan Consolidated Industries, Inc., and Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corp., which are listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange.
His previous positions include being the Chief Financial Officer of the San Miguel Corporation, Chairman and CEO of Asian Bank, and Director of Petron and Meralco, Independent Director of eTelecare and Global Solutions Inc. and Ayala Land, Inc. Due to his extensive experience in business and finance, he served as the Secretary of Finance under former President Fidel Ramos from 1992 to 1993.
 Other affiliations and designations
Aside from his designations at Phinma, del Rosario is also actively involved in other organizations. He is currently Co-Chairman of the National Mission Council of De La Salle Philippines, Inc., the policy setting body for all De La Salle schools in the Philippines. He succeeded Ricardo J. Romulo as the Chairman of the Makati Business Club (MBC) in 2006.
He is also the Chairman of the Philippines-U.S. Business Council and the Philippine Education Theater Association (PETA). He is also the a member of the Board of Trustees of Asian Institute of Management and Chairman of the Board of Advisors of the Asian Institute of Management—Ramon V. del Rosario, Sr. Center for Corporate Social Responsibility. He is the Vice-Chairman of Caritas Manila, Philippine Business for Social Progress, and the Children’s Hour.
Del Rosario was an exemplary student, having graduated valedictorian of his elementary and high school classes at De La Salle. He even graduated from De La Salle University, Manila BSC-Accounting and Commerce and AB-Social Sciences, magna cum laude. In 1967, he was selected as the Most Outstanding Student of the Philippines. In 1978, del Rosario was a Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) awardee in the field of Investment Banking and Finance. In 2005, del Rosario received the Benigno Aquino, Jr. award for Nationalism. In that same year, he received the Distinguished La Sallian Award.
