Ramon S. Ang is the President and Chief Operating Officer of the San Miguel Corporation. He is known as the right hand-man of Eduardo Cojuangco, Jr. He was considered by the Wall Street Journal as one of the 10 top business leaders who made headlines in 2009 in select global and regional media and the only Filipino business leader to made the list.


Professional Career

Ramon Ang holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Far Eastern University (FEU). When Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco returned to the San Miguel Corporation and had himself elected, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, he bought with him his friend Ang. Ang was an auto mechanic before Cojuangco entrusted him his vast businesses while he was in exile. He eventually became the Vice Chairman in 1999 and became Chief Operating Officer in 2002. He is also a Member of the Company’s Executive Committee and Nomination and Hearing Committee

Since then, Ang has held key positions within the San Miguel Corporation and its subsidiaries. He is also the CEO of Cyber Bay Corporation and CEO and Executive Chairman of San Miguel Properties Inc. since 2002, and Petron Corporation since 2009. He has also been the Chairman of Cyber Bay Corporation since 1999, and Chairman and President of Far East Cement Corporation, Chairman of San Miguel Brewery, Inc. since 2002, Chairman of Mindanao Corrugated Fibreboard, Inc. since 1999, Purefoods-Hormel Company, Inc. since 2002, Magnolia, Inc. since 2000, and Vice Chairman of Ginebra San Miguel Inc.

Among international San Miguel subsidiaries, Ang Chairs the San Miguel Yamamura Glass Vietnam Ltd., Zhaoging San Miguel Glass Co. Ltd., Rightpak International Corporation, San Miguel Yamamura Asia Corporation, Premium Packaging International Inc., San Miguel Rengo Packaging Corporation, San Miguel Yamamura Ball Corporation, SMC Yamamura Fuso Molds Corporation and San Miguel Brewery Hong Kong Limited, since 2005.

He is also the Chairman Del Monte Philippines, Inc. of Philippine Diamond Hotel and Resort, Inc., Philippine Oriental Realty Development, Atea Tierra Corporation. He also serves as Director of Philippine Dairy Products Corporation, Lucky Star Manufacturing, Inc., Alto Marine Exporter Co., Standard Heavy Equipment and Rebuilding Corp., Looc Mining Inc., Golden Falcon Mineral Corp., Centech International Inc., and Golden Aero Air Corporation. He once served as a Director of the Philippine Stock Exchange.

He served as Director of Philippine Stock Exchange Inc. He holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Far Eastern University, Philippines.

Personal life

Ang is a car enthusiast. He was elected President of Porsche Club Philippines in 2005.
