Philippine Phosphate Fertilizer Corporation known as PHILPHOS is the largest phosphatic fertilizer manufacturing complex in the Philippines. It is located at the Leyte Industrial Development Estate (LIDE), in the municipality of Isabel, province of Leyte, Philippines.


History

The National Development Company (NDC) established the company in 1980. It became a joint venture between the Philippines and the Republic of Nauru one year after it was established. The construction of the plant was completed in 1984 and started its commeercial operations in 1987. It was privatized in November 2000.
