Ospital ng Muntinlupa
The establishment of Ospital ng Muntinlupa is one laudable accomplishment, which addresses pressing needs for quality but cheaper cost of medication, while presence of health centers answer to immediate treatment and medication.
Center of Wellness
Situated at the Filinvest Corporate City in Alabang, the Ospital ng Muntinlupa is the first general hospital in the city. It was determinedly established in the administration of Mayor Jaime Fresnedi to benefit mostly city residents. It is envisioned to be the paragon in modern health facilities, outfitted with the state-of-the-art equipment and managed by proficient medical experts.
As a priority project of Mayor Fresnedi, the Ospital ng Muntinlupa or OsMun is the only public hospital in the country, which is being subsidized by the local government. Its establishment has been a figure of adequate medical care especially to indigent residents of the city. Records show that in year 2003 up to the mid of 2004, it has attended 34,881 outpatient services; 16,848 emergency cases; and 8,288 in-patient procedures including operations and deliveries.
KALINGANG KALUSUGAN KLINIK (KKK)
Found on the hospital’s ground floor is the Kalingang Kalusugan Klinik (KKK), which provides basic medical care. Employees of the city government and underprivileged residents avail free check-ups and consultations on this 24-hour service extension clinic. Patients with ordinary ailments need not proceed to Out-Patient Department (OPD) for consultation, the KKK is readily enough to cater them. To date, the KKK has served more than 10,000 patients already.
The K-Subsidy provides financial aid with privileges reaching up to 75% subsidy on hospital billings. If a certain patient, for instance, was found incapable to pay his hospital obligation, the Muntinlupa Government will take part in subsidizing 75% of his total bill, thereby allowing the patient to shoulder only 25% of his total bill. Mayor Fresnedi has provided each resident-family an allocation of Php 25,000 for hospitalization per annum.
The city’s Social Service Department (SSD) has provided an extension office at the OsMun to help patients avail subsidies from the local government. Records revealed that in 2003, more than 3,000 patients received subsidies costing the local government an amount of Php 43 million. In 2004, nearby 8,000 patients were granted subsidies amounting to Php 62 million.
