Beauty contests or beauty pageants had been part of Philippine society, which are widely awaited every year. Pageants comes in different forms,target groups and places. It is held in schools, barangays, towns, provinces, nationwide and abroad. In the Filipino way of living, this is one event being awaited in most gatherings and fiestas. More often, a beauty contest is the celebration's highlight. It showcases not only Filipina beauty, but provides the chance to show the talents, inquisitiveness, and wit of the contestants. And since Filipinos are naturally loves laughter and fun, the entertainment aspects while watching a beauty contest can't be missed out.

Numerous titles and beauty pageants can be named from all over the country. However, more popularly known are the major beauty pageants televised to choose the country's representative for international competitions. Since the first Binibining Pilipinas Pageant until today, a number of equally beautiful and brainy Filipino beauty queens, made the Philippines felt and known in the world.

  1. Carlene Ang Aguilar is a former Miss Philippines Earth and Bb. Pilipinas World titleholder.
  2. Karen Loren Agustin (born September 23 1982) is a Filipino model who represented the Philippines in Miss Universe 2002 pageant held in Puerto Rico. Her modeling skills were developed by John Robert Powers and D'Javier in Bogotá, Colombia.
  3. Nina Ricci Alagao is a professional model, actress,make-up artist, TV host and former Bb. Pilipinas titleholder. She represented the Philippines in the Miss Universe Pageant 2000 held in Nicosia,Cyprus.
  4. Michelle Aldana was Ms. Asia Pacific International title holder for the year 1993, representing the Philippines.
  5. Sheila Alonso was crowned Miss Philippines-Fire 2004 and represented the Philippines in Miss Tourism Queen International 2005. Though she did not bring home the crown, this Norwegian-born lady was among the semi-finalist and got a special award, "Best Smile".
  6. Kristine Alzar was a Binibining Pilipinas-International beauty queen in 2002.
  7. Zorayda Ruth Andam did not land in the Miss Universe semifinals, she is a definite winner in every way. Zora without question represented the Philippines and its people in the best way that she could.
  8. Maria Lourdes Apostol represented the Philippines in 1987 Miss World pageant.
  9. Gemma Cruz Araneta is the first Philippine candidate to win the Miss International title in the pageant's fifth edition in Long Beach, California in 1964. She is also the first Filipina to win in an international beauty pageant tilt.
  10. Abbygale Arenas (born November 17, 1974 in Angeles City) is a former model from the Philippines. She is 5'9" and is said to resemble Linda Evangelista.
  11. Sarah Jane Areza was the 1981, Philippine Miss World representative.
  12. Sabrina Simonette Marie Artadi was crowned as Binibing Pilipinas International in 1985.
  13. Maricar Manalaysay Balagtas (born July 29 ,1983), of the Philippines, is the first Filipino delegate to win the Miss Globe International title in 2001 and represented the Philippines in the 2004 Miss Universe pageant.
  14. Carla Balingit is a beauty queen from the Philippines who has competed at Miss Universe. Balingit won the Binibining Pilipinas 2003 and represented her country at the Miss Universe 2003 pageant which was won by Dominican Republic's Amelia Vega
  15. Angela Perez Baraquio (b.June 1, 1976) is a Fil-american teacher and a beauty queen. She was crowned Miss Hawaii in 2000 and became the first Asian-American and the first teacher to ever hold the title of Miss America 2001.
  16. Jennifer Barrientos won Binibining Pilipinas Miss Universe in 2008.

Kirby Ann Basken(August 12 1985)is an half filipina and norwegian beauty queen.She was raise by her family in norway.She 1st competed Mutya ng Pilipinas(pearl of the orient)beauty contest in the philippines and won.Kirby Ann Basken, represented our country in the 2006 Miss Intercontinental and placed in the top 12 semi-finals.
  18. Maria Karla Bautista was the finalist in the 2004 Bb. Pilipinas Universe Pageant and crowned as Asia & Oceania's Queen of Beauty.
  19. Margaret Ann Bayot, Binibining Pilipinas-International 2005, Succeeded by Denille Lou Valmonte.

Lalaine Bennett, the fresh doll faced Miss Philippines of 1963 won the hearts of the Filipino people when she made them experience the first taste of success in an international pageant with her 3rd Runner-up finish at Miss Universe. Lalaine made her mark in the pageant when she delivered her speech in her native tongue instead of in English.
  21. Liza Berroya was the 1992 Binibining Pilipinas-Universe winner.

  27. Jasmin Chua was crowned Miss Philippines-Water 2004. She graduated from the College of the Holy Spirit, Quezon City with a degree of BS accountancy.
  28. Alma Concepcion won the Binibining Pilipinas Semi-finalist 1994 and was given the award of Miss Friendship.
  29. Armi Barbara Crespo is a former beauty queen of the Philippines. She won the Binibining Pilipinas in 1972 and was among the semi-finalist in Miss Universe held in Durado, Puerto Rico.

  38. Marilen Espino was crowned as the very first Binibing Pilipinas World in 1992. Days before her departure for the 1992 Miss World pageant, she was replaced by Marina Bennipayo as Philippine representative due to health reasons. Despite not being able to compete in Miss World, she still retained her title.
