Liding Oledan, born Erlinda Salgado Miranda, is recognized to be the undisputed Grand Dame of the Philippine jewelry industry, having brought her seven-generation strong family business to its pinnacle. Most identified with former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos, Oledan's exclusive business catered not only to the creme de la creme of Manila high society and political circles (she has been the jeweler of choice of Imelda Cojuangco, Chito Madrigal, Mely Concepcion-Hechanova, Tingting Cojuangco, and Loi Estrada, among others) since the 1940s (First Lady Leonila Garcia was also a client), but also to European and Asian royalty. Besides the design and production of jewelry, Oledan was also known to create magnificently jeweled objets d'art, including religious items and other decorative pieces.

Aside from being famous for a fabulous collection of jewels, Oledan is well known for the elegant parties she hosts at her North Forbes Park home, and prior to that at her Urdaneta Village home. Now into her 80s, Oledan is said to throw more intimate gatherings, but still with the usual sumptuous food cooked in her own kitchen. She has been consistently touted as one of Manila's top hostesses.

Married to the late lawyer-businessman Jose Zarate Oledan, who served as Ambassador of the Philippines to Spain, Liding Oledan has 9 children, among them, socialite Linda Oledan-Coscolluela, Ric Oledan (married to singer Vernie Varga), and Teresa Oledan-Liptavat (married to a Thai senator). Oledan is also the grandmother to equestrienne turned congresswoman, Carissa Coscolluela.
