Josephine Ramirez-Sato

Josephine Y. Ramirez-Sato (b. April 29, 1954 - ) is the current Governor (2004-present) of the province of Occidental Mindoro, former Representative of the 12th Philippine Congress (2001-2004), and Former Vice Governor of the same province from 1988 to 1992.

Governor "Nene", as she is popularly called, was born in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro to Mariano Ramirez and Pacifica Ylagan.



She finished her elementary and secondary education at San Jose Pilot School and Saint Joseph High School in 1966 and 1970, respectively, as a valedictorian. She finished Bachelor of Arts at Saint Theresa's College as a dean's lister and graduated top 14 in her Bachelor of Laws at the University of the Philippines. She pursued Internal Law and Taxation and Instructions for Lawyers at Harvard University, School of Law from 1985 to 1986 and Urban Studies and Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Massachusetts, U.S.A. from 1986 to 1987.

She ranked 23rd at the Philippine Bar Examination in November of 1978.
