John Lloyd Cruz

John Lloyd Cruz (24 June 1983) is a Filipino actor and commercial model. He is one of the most sought-after leading men in the country, playing lead roles in various box office hits such as One More Chance, A Very Special Love, and You Changed My Life. He was recently named the "Third Most Powerful Celebrity in the Philippines" as well as "Box Office King" for the movie A Very Special Love.



Cruz was 14 years old when a talent scout spotted him and asked him to visit and audition at ABS-CBN. He became a member of Star Magic Batch 5 and was launched as a member of Koolits with Baron Geisler and Marc Solis.

In 1999, Cruz played Rovic in series Tabing Ilog, a performance that earned him a major role in the TV sereis Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay (2002) with Bea Alonzo and Lorna Tolentino. His successful team-up with Bea Alonzo led to romantic lead roles in the movies Now That I Have You (2004) and One More Chance (2008).

He also had in the movie Dubai (2005) with Aga Muhlach and Claudine Barretto. His movies A Very Special Love (2008) and You Changed My Life (2009) pairing him with Sarah Geronimo grossed P180 million and P230 million at the box office, making them among the highest grossing movies in the country.

Cruz was a member of the male group Coverboys with Sam Milby, Zanjoe Marudo, Rafael Rossell, Victor Basa, and Jake Cuenca. He is now a part of Kanto Boys with Billy Joe Crawford, Sam Milby, and Vhong Navarro. The group regularly performs in ASAP.

Personal life

Cruz was formerly linked to showbiz personalities Kaye Abad and Ciara Sotto. He recently broke up with his long time girlfriend Liz Uy and is currently rumored as Ruffa Gutierrez's new boyfriend. However both parties deny that they are together.
