Globe Handyphone is the mobile brand of Globe Telecom, a mobile phone service provider in the Philippines. At present, Globe Handyphone (of which the name Globe is most commonly used on) is the second-largest service provider in the Philippines, with a subscriber base of 16.9 million subscribers as of March 2007.

Globe Handyphone targets the mainstream market while the Touch Mobile service targets mainly blue-collar workers.


Levels of service

Globe offers different levels of service, dependent on both the population and the financial capability of the subscriber. A list is provided below.

  • G-Flex (Consumable Postpaid Credits)
  • G-Plan (postpaid)
    • Globe Platinum (high-end postpaid service)
  • Globe Prepaid
    • Globe Kapamilya Prepaid (ABS-CBN Exclusive Sim Card)
  • Globe Gizmo (Kids' mobile service in prepaid and postpaid)

Globe Telecom also was first to offer Super 3G or HSDPA technology in Asia-Pacific during its launch in the first quarter of 2006.

Philippine area code assignment

Globe Telecom uses the area codes 905, 906, 915, 916, 917, 926 and 927. The 906 and 926 area codes are shared with Touch Mobile and 915 and 916 were formerly area codes of Islacom until the successful merger of Globe and Islacom.
