FHM Philippines, the best-selling monthly men's magazine in the Philippines, is a local franchise edition of the most popular men's magazine in the United Kingdom. Locally, it is published by Summit Media, the Philippines' leading magazine publisher.
FHM Philippines is classified as a glossy magazine. Its paper is of high quality and photography is usually done by experts. FHM covers are frequently of popular Filipina entertainment celebrities, often scantily clad. Though FHM has been accused here in the Philippines of straddling the divide between art and pornography, the magazine is typically stocked in the lifestyle rather than adult section on newsstands. The photographs are undeniably sexy and revealing, yet, so as not to cross the line to outright pornography, genitalia and female areolae are still hidden from view.
Aside from photos, the magazine contains articles on a varied topics, such as profiles of sports stars, articles on movies, music, gadgets, book reviews, gossip, men's fashion shoots, and the social scene. Its most popular articles, though, are those related to relationships and sex (sexual exploits, techniques, etc.).

[edit] History
The magazine began publication in 1985 in the United Kingdom under the name For Him. Classified in England as a lad's magazine, it was founded by Chris Astridge and was initially published by Tayvale. In its early stages, it was predominantly a fashion-based publication distributed through high class men's fashion outlets. By 1987, its circulation expanded to newsagents as a quarterly. In 1994, FHM was bought by the giant British media company, Emap. Due to its stronger editorial approach and new philosophy of making everything accessible to its readers, FHM turned the men's market upside down.
Because of its popularity, FHM began establishing international editions. In March 2000, FHM Philippines was launched, published in the Philippines by Summit Media. At that time, Summit had only been in existence for five years and was publishing 5 titles. When the company acquired FHM, Summit scored it big in the Philippine market. FHM Philippines was Summit's first monthly magazine to go beyond 100,000 copies sold per month.
[edit] FHM Today
No one knew that much about FHM before it hit the local market. Today, FHM is the biggest glossy magazine in the country. The magazine, meant to cater to regular guys, responds to the question "What do men really like and what do they talk about in the company of other men?". Therefore, aside from its monthly magazines, FHM also comes up with special issues. Every year, the magazine publishes an FHM calendar, with titillating photos of the sexiest Filipina celebrities. Also, FHM comes up with an annual poll of 100 Sexiest Women in the Philippines and a separate poll for the 100 Sexiest Women in the World. The final list is published in a special edition of the magazine.
FHM Philippines also has a web presence at www.fhm.com.ph.
