Emil M. Flores is an assistant professor at the Department of English and Comparative Literature of the College of Arts and Letters, University of the Philippines, Diliman. He is currently teaching English, American Literature, Anglo-American Science Fiction and Fantasy, and Creative Writing. He received a Master's Degree in English from Virginia Tech University and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in Creative Writing at UP Diliman.

Flores specializes in analyzing Filipino popular culture. He has also adapted Philippine short stories into comics form for the University of the Philippines Press.
