The movie Darna has been a cultural pop phenomenon among Filipinos. Since 1951, 14 movies and two TV series were made out of the super heroine character of Mars Ravelo and different actresses have played the much coveted role.

Regardless of many incarnations of the story, the usual story of Darna begins with a village girl named Narda who finds a white stone, a tiny meteorite that's believed to have originated from outer space. Whenever Narda swallows the stone and shouts "Darna!" she becomes a mighty warrior ready defend the Earth from any evil forces that is threatening to endangered the human race. Her sidekick and secret keeper is Ding, her brother, while her famous nemesis is Valentina. Although various kind of enemies have been created together with the remakes, Valentina still remained to be the ultimate counterpart of Darna.
