Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation
Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation , is a private operating foundation under U.S. laws with hedquarters in Honolulu Hawaii. CZAF, was founded in the year 1988, this is to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged children, women and families in the Philippines and Hawaii. they operates programs either directly with its own personnel or by contracting other organizations.
In august 1993, CZAF Philippines was established to manage its Philippines operation, thus, supporting progframs for the prevention of abuse, the protection and recovery of victims of abuse, and the creation of opportunities for disadvantaged children, women and families.
It was on the month of September of the same year, when Consuelo Foundation forged a partnership with the International Youth Foundation (IYF) on the establishment of the Children and Youth foundation of the Philippines (CYFP), a Philippine registered non-stock, non-profit foundation. When IYF moved out of this partnership, CYFP became a CZAF subsidiary.
In 2001,CYFP became implementing arm of all the programs of CZAF in the Philippines. Thus, from its original mission and goals that were focused only on children and youth, CYFP embraced the larger vision and mission of Consuelo Foundation. It re-designed its program thrusts and atrategies, pursuing more holistic interventions.
On July 31, 2002, CYFP was officially renamed Consuelo Foundation Incorporated.
With its vision, To renew hope for those who have lost it and give hope to those who never had it. Their mission is; To operate or support programs in Hawaii and the Philippines that improve the quality of life of disadvantaged children, women and families.
