Citizen's Army Training (CAT) is a compulsory military training for high school students. Fourth-year high school students undergo rigorous training including military drills and exercises are a normal sight on campuses. Students are also given lectures on the operations of the Philippine military system, set-up, and functions like a military unit.
Training is conducted in battalions composed of several companies and the companies composed of several platoons wherein decisions are made through a chain of command under the supervision of the commandant.
