Battle of Alapan (1898)
From WikiPilipinas: The Hip 'n Free Philippine Encyclopedia
The Battle of Alapan (28 May 1898) was General Emilio Aguinaldo's first victory after returning from Singapore on 19 May 1898. It was also during this day when the Philippine National Flag was hoisted for the first time at Teatro Caviteno in Cavite City (formerly Cavite Nuevo).
The battle took place from 10 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon, until Spanish forces ran out of ammunition and surrendered. The Philippine flag was then raised before the victorious Filipino revolutionaries, captured Spanish soldiers, and a large group of officers and men of the U.S. Asiatic Squadron under Admiral George Dewey.
