Bagong Lipunan was a patriotic song written by National Artist for Music Felipe Padilla De Leon in 1974. It was made a compulsory hymn to sing after the Philippine national anthem. The lyrics captured the hoped-for glory of the New Society:

Bagong Lipunan

May bagong silang,

May bago nang buhay,

Bagong bansa,

Bagong galaw,

Sa Bagong Lipunan.

Magbabago ang lahat,

Tungo sa pag-unlad,

at ating itanghal,

Bagong lipunan!

New Society

A new path,

A new life, A new country A new movement

In the New Society !

All of us need to change

Towards progress ' And let us proclaim,

Our New Society! (English translation by Juned

The song had a long provenance. Its inspirations were Awit sa Paglikha ng Bagong Pilipinas which was written during the Japanese Occupation to replace Lupang Hinirang (then known in its English version as the Philippine Hymn) as the national anthem and another secondary national anthem which he titled Awit sa Paglikha ng Bagong Lipunan.
