Ang Bangkero (The Boatman) is a landmark bomba film released in 1984, directed by Amable "Tikoy" Aguiluz.

Originally titled Toro, a colloquial Filipino word for a young man who performs in live sex shows, Ang Bangkero also highlights prevalent problems during the Marcos regime, such as poverty, repression, crime and violence.

Felipe is a boatman from Pagsanjan, Laguna, both known as a popular tourist spot and a homosexual sex center. Felipe goes to Manila and becomes a performer in a live sex show with Gigi. Felipe, suffering from the inability to distinguish theater from reality, falls in love with Gigi and with Emily, an American woman who is a client of his.

Emily's real boyfriend, however, finds out about Felipe. In his anger, the boyfriend resorts to violence. Felipe and Gig are brought to a cargo ship in Manila harbor, and Felipe is castrated in front of Gigi.
