Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP) is the governing sports organization for amateur boxing in the Philippines. Its main office is located at Rm. 201 Administration Bldg,. RMSC, P. Ocampo St., Malate, Manila.

ABAP is busy staging a series of “grassroots” level amateur boxing tournaments in different parts of the Philippines to discover talented and potential amateurs who can be part of the national boxing team.

ABAP aims to win its first Olympic gold medal in boxing and be recognized as one of the world's boxing powers. Its current president is Victorio P. Vargas and its secretary general is Patrick Gregorio.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Organize and successfully stage National Amateur Boxing Championships
  • Develop a computerized database system of amateur boxers nationwide
  • Implement a country-wide youth development program
  • Prepare a common plan and training for all coaches and referees nationwide
  • Strengthen ties with corporate sponsors for ABAP's financial stability
  • Outline the training program for the national pool of talents for the National Team
  • Prepare tactics to improve the relationship with AIBA International Boxing Association
  • Implement a rewards and incentives system
