Alexis T. Belonio

Engr. Alexis Belonio is a scientist at Central Philippine University (CPU) Iloilo City, Philippines who invented a stove which is powered by rice husks. He was an Associate Professor of CPU's College of Agriculture-Appropriate Technology Center calls his invention a super turbo and ATC Project Director and Chairman of the Agricultural Engineering Department.

Alexis T. Belonio is an Agricultural Engineer who specializes in rice husks and had previously made other stoves. For three years he worked in virtual isolation, but not in secrecy. He simply did not have awareness of what others were doing and writing.

Alexis T. Belonio is one of the 1997 Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) Awardees for Agricultural Engineering.
