Rodolfo Noel I. Lozada Jr. was known to the public as Jun Lozada when he surfaced to report how First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo spearheaded the anomalous ZTE deal.


Personal Background

Lozada was born in Ligao City, Albay. He is an electronics and communications engineer and an alumnus of the University of Sto. Tomas. He was a former chief executive officer of the Philippine Forest Corporation which was under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources where he directed the propagation and commercial cultivation of tuba-tuba as a source of biodiesel. He served as a technical consultant to former Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Romulo Neri on the national broadband project. He has a twenty-year experience in management positions in the private sector. He is also a golfer and a book lover.

NBN/ZTE deal

The buzz about Lozada started when he came out to the media and accused First Gentleman Arroyo of not only being a witness but the mastermind of the NBN/ZTE deal. He was dubbed as whistleblower of the anomalies done by the husband of the president, of which mainly revolves around corruption. NBN/ZTE deal was a national broadband network deal made by the Philippines with the ZTE Company of China. During the course of his expose, Lozada roamed the country and gave speeches to different schools.


Lozada was filed with charges of perjury, a corrupt assertion of a falsehood under oath. He was to face arrest for the case filed against him by former presidential chief of staff Mike Defensor.
