The Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) is the biggest, longest-running, most prestigious and internationally-recognized book event in the Philippines. It started in 1981 in Manila when publishers, book sellers, authors and readers come together to celebrate technology, knowledge, books, and reading. It has since become an annual event, usually held in late August or early September.

The MIBF brings together more than three hundred local and foreign exhibitors from the book publishing and allied industries, and features hundreds and thousands of book titles -- the most of any book exhibition in the country. It aims to continuously contribute to the reading awareness of the Filipino people and be a venue for members of the book industry to address market demands, launch new titles, and promote books and reading advocacies.

In 2006 the MIBF was attended by more than fifty thousand visitors, a number which is estimated to increase every year.
