Lourdes Paredes San Diego she is a judge.



She was born in Manila on April 21, 1910. Her father's name is Don Quintin Paredes, is a distinguished lawyer and statesman. Her mother's name is Victoria Peralta of La Union. She obtained several degrees, first was philosophy. Then came law. She took her Master of Arts course in the University of Sto. Tomas and was rated meritissimus. She went to Spain where she took graduate courses in humanities and law in the Universidad Central de Madrid.


She wrote and published a couple of books- The Law on Partnership and The Philippine Law on Corporation. She did extensive research work on Comparative Study of Inheritance Law as They Affect Women and The Status of Women Under the Philippine Family Law. She is recognized as a leader in the particular discipline she has chosen for her profession, she was selected by the U.P. Law Center chairman of the Committee on the Study of Treatment of Offenders in the Philippines. She was chosen to represent the Philippines Government in several important seminars and conferences, some of which are: Conferences on Human Rights in New Zealand, 1961; Seminar on Status of Women in Tokyo, 1962; U.N. Commission on Status of Women, New York, 1963; FIDA in New Delhi, India, 1964; U.N. Conference on Prevention of Crime and Treatment of Offenders, in Stockholm, 1965; U.N. Commission on Status of Women, Geneva, 1966; and Seminar on Advancement of Women, Manila, 1966.
