The Kankanaeys speak Kalkali, a dialect similar to the Bontocs and akin to the lloko and is estimated 125,000 in number(National Council of Churches of the Philippines, 1988). They are found in the municipalities of Bakun,Mankayan, Buguais, Kapangan,Kibungan in North Central Benguet and Bauko, Besao, Sagada, Tadian in Western Bontoc.
