Ikalahan refers to the indigenous people settled in the boundaries of Sta. Fe in Pangasinan, Kayapa in Nueva Viscaya and Buguias in Benguet. They are called "people of the forest" which was derived from the name Ikalahan, with prefix "I" meaning "residents" and the term "kalaban" meaning the type of forest trees indigenous in the area.
